The festive season has begun and with Christmas and New Year around the corner, it’s time to get jolly and dress for the part. Such special occasions require ultimate outfits to welcome a bright and happy 2015!

Go bold with lavish colours this month; think red in Santa-shade and Christmas-tree green.

And if you are trying to find something to wear to the party, play safe —as an evening dress is always a winning option! First, decide between a cocktail dress or maxi gown. Either way, opt for rich stunning colours, style it up with chunky gold accessories and you’ll be the centre of attention. Choose one colour and make it the centre piece. Bright colours like red and deep green naturally attract attention, so keep it simple with a basic pair of shoes (heels of course) and clutch.

December is the month to sparkle. If you have a confident and outgoing personality, do as Rihanna manifested in her song “Shine bright like a diamond”… literally! It will boost your holiday spirit instantly; all it takes is a little dazzle. If you want a practical option, invest into separates, better a skirt or trousers. This way you can dress it up, adding some bold colours to wear to a party, or you can dress it down using a crisp white shirt or a neutral jumper for a more casual look. In case you decide to forget about being practical and plan to party away, dance your way to a full sequins-embroidered options. Sparkly cocktail dresses look great in neutral colours like dusty rose, silver and champagne; you’ll be the shine of the party.

If you don’t feel like splashing out on a new wardrobe, accessorise! Cute New Year themed scarves and bags will get you into the mood. For an evening option, bring out that good old LBD, add an embroidered jacket, a golden clutch, killer heels and some glittering accessories
and you have a new outfit! Another option for an easy glam twist is to add a large colourful necklace for a more extravagant look.

Glam it up

Go for a bit more make-up this month. Add some sparkle to your eyes with some glittery eye-shadow. Red being the colour of the month, rock the brightest shades of it on your smile. Red lipstick instantly gives a glamorous touch to any look. And if you were waiting to get those eyelash extensions, the time has come. With all the events this month, your eyes should be sheer perfection.
You’ll thank yourself for it when you later see the photos.

Just Be creative!

The upcoming New Year means new hopes and new definitely beginnings (you can start thinking about your New Year resolutions now). So this is the time to get creative in trying out new styles. If you have a feminine style, try out a tomboy look and see how it feels. Start wearing head gear, hats, caps and turbans. Stand out. Going to a party where probably everyone will be wearing cocktail dresses? Shock everyone in a jumpsuit! Pick one-colour option for a more chic look; add exquisite heels, a lot of jewellery and shimmering make-up. You’ll be impressed how a little creativity goes a long way!
