Jackie Chan in a kandura
Published on October 8, 2015
You might have seen him in many different roles and costumes throughout his long movie career, but you definitely didn’t see him in a kandura (a traditional Arab garment). The famous actor was recently spotted at a camel race track wearing the UAE traditional clothing and joking with locals. While the photo was widely shared by UAE residents, there is also a video capturing Chan taking photos with locals while two camels are in the background.
The Chinese celebrity is in the UAE for the production of his latest movie Kung Fu Yoga, which is a shared venture between India and China. He was also spotted out and about in Dubai in areas of Downtown, Atlantis the Palm and Jumeirah Lakes Tower while filming.
When it comes to movies, UAE has become an iconic destination with its futuristic skyscrapers and desert landscapes with the likes of Fast and Furious 7, Star Trek, Mission Impossible (Ghost Protocol) and other blockbusters having scenes in the country. Keep a look out for the Dubai scenes in Jackie Chan’s Kung Fu Yoga which is scheduled to premier next year.
