Seven facts about cellulite you didn’t know

Around 90 per cent of women are affected by it and it is their worst enemy: Cellulite is one of the biggest aesthetic problems that women face. Widely known as the skin with the “orange peel” effect, it is every woman’s worst nightmare. There are a million solutions offered from sessions at beauty salons to massage creams that promise smooth cellulite-free skin. Here are some facts you should know about the “orange peel”
Cellulite affects mostly women, but it can affect men too. It can occur on any body shape, whether overweight or thin. There are three types of cellulite that affect almost every woman at some point
Cellulite appears when fat deposits start pushing through the skin. It can occur in any area but usually occurs on buttocks, thighs, stomach and arms. It also happens when the connective tissue is too weak which may be due to lack of muscle tone, too much fat and poor blood circulation.
There are three main types of cellulite: Fibrotic cellulite is very hard and compact with a very clear orange peel effect which is usually due to excess fat deposits. Adipose cellulite is firm cellulite but with a lesser orange peel effect than fibrotic cellulite. cellulite is the least obvious which usually appears on thinner women because it is mostly caused by fluid retention on loose skin.
From costly therapy sessions at the beauty clinic to exercise; cellulite can be destroyed. Interval training that burns fat will help fight the disaster, but just dropping a few kilograms won’t help because cellulite can stay under the skin even if you lose weight. You have to completely burn the fat and go on strict diet.
UV rays and cellulite
It is proven that the harmful sunrays weaken collagen which is the reason to accelerated skin ageing and more visible cellulite. Next time you plan on tanning, don’t forget SPF protection for those soft places!
Over the counter products
While anti-cellulite products and creams may make it less visible, they will never completely get rid of cellulite for you. Consider it as minor help in your battle. Opt for creams that have caffeine and retinol as key ingredients, as they stimulate blood circulation to the problematic spots.
It may be the genes
Check with your mother or grandmother, because cellulite can be hereditary. Either ways, don’t blame it all on the genes because exercise and a healthy diet also play vital roles. If you do discover cellulite, better fight it viciously because it gets only worst with age.
