Where did Halloween originate?
The celebration of Halloween is thought to have its origins in an ancient Irish festival known as Samhain. This was a time to mark the end of summer and prepare for winter. It was traditionally celebrated on October 31 with feasting, bonfires, sacrificial offerings and homage to the dead. There was a sense that this was a time of the year when physical and supernatural worlds got closest and magical things happened!
This is one of the easiest costumes to make. All you need is an old bed sheet and a pair of scissors!
This is a fun one to make. Use some white clothes and strips of fabric. You may want to tea dye the fabric for more authentic effects. Add some face paint to complete the look.
Use some black clothes and cut an old black umbrella to make the wings. Make bat ears using a hat or head band and some felt fabric.
Using an old black T-shirt, paint on a skeleton body or cut out some bone shapes from a white piece of paper. Alternatively, cut out a skeleton shape from a black T-shirt and pair it with a white T-shirt underneath. Use face paint to create a skull face.
